In fact, Santorini is a small group of islands, but it is customary to refer to the largest island in the group "Thira", as Santorini. The uniqueness and beauty of the place come from the fact that the group of islands are the remains of an ancient volcano that erupted and created the "Caldera" - the crater of the volcano submerged in the sea that was created after its collapse. In short, a spectacular spectacle that you must see at least once in your life!

You can reach Santorini in the following ways: Direct flights directly from Athens, a short cruise (about 2 hours) from the island of Crete - recommended in combination with a vacation in Crete, a long cruise (about 5 hours) from Athens (port Piraeus) - recommended in combination with a vacation in Athens and other islands along the way, for example, Mykonos \ Paros \ Milos and more.

In Santorini, there are several options for getting around: a Rental car is, in my opinion, the most convenient option to travel between the towns and explore the small island (about 80 square kilometers). Usually, parking will be in a parking lot a few minutes walk from the hotel. Public transportation - there are cheap buses between the main towns and expensive taxis. ATVs and scooters - as in any Greek island you can rent these popular vehicles. If you come to rest and do not move from the hotel, use the hotel's transfer services.

The recommended length of stay on the island depends mainly on the budget you want to invest. Most of the people will stay 3 nights or 4 nights. If you have more time and budget you can stay even 7 nights. Since the island is very small (about an hour's drive from end to end), even 3 nights will allow you to taste what the island has to offer (for example, a sunset cruise, a tour of wineries and resting in front of a spectacular view), but without a doubt, you will be left with a taste for more and a desire to return.

The main attraction in Santorini that you should not miss is undoubtedly a quality cruise. The powerful views of the island from the sea, the special beaches that you can only reach by sailing, the service, the atmosphere and the cuisine on the yacht - they are what make the experience unforgettable! On the island, there are dozens of providers and a large variety of cruise types, some amazing and some much less so. Fortunately for you, I have tested and tried several of them and will be happy to offer you the leading companies on the island that offer cruises at the highest level! The recommended sunset cruise lasts about 5 hours and includes a tasty lunch and free drinks, pickup and drop-off from any hotel on the island, towels and snorkels for swimming on the most beautiful beaches on the island, and an amazing atmosphere.
